This adapter from Serial Cables is designed to expand the testing possibilities of your Gen5 PCIe/NVMe slots already present in most Gen5 server and workstation platforms. By adapting your standard Gen5 M.2 2280 and shorter length devices to the EDSFF E1.S form factor, you can test your EDSFF compatibility pin for pin with any M.2 device, greatly reducing the cost of testing in production involved with EDSFF devices.
On-board access to all of your sideband signals including I2C & SMBus for both the M.2 side as well as the EDSFF side allow you to fully monitor every piece of the signal path for a more complete test suite. Also, the included piano switch allows for you to control 1.8V & 3.3V power as well as CLKREQ, PERsT and PWRDIS.
